"CREATE ~PARTICIPATE ~APPRECIATE"

Keppel Coast Art Council was established in 1999 and is committed to contributing to our local community cultural development by:

(A) Hosting arts products and services provided by Queensland Arts Council;

(B) Initiating and participating in the development of arts products and activities in our local community;

(C) Carrying out arts related projects in association with other arts or community organisations.

Keppel Coast Arts Council is a not-for-profit community organisation that is volunteer-run.  We encourage artistic expression, provide opportunities for participation in cultural experiences in many forms and act as a catalyst for making our community a dynamic and vital place to live.  We have an affiliation with Queensland Arts Council and this provides support, advice and resources, as well as access to live performing arts, visual arts and arts education.  Further information on the Queensland Arts Council is available from its website http://qac.org.au/

The Village Festival is our major event organised annually and KCAC is committed to hosting a community event that fosters artistic expression, unity and a sense of well being, with a focus on showcasing local artists and promoting the local area.  The objectives of the Village Festival are:

1.  Encourage participation in artistic expression through a variety of art mediums.

2.  Promote interest in artistic expression with particular emphasis on showcasing local artists.

3.     Act as a coordinating body to present arts related activities in the form of a regular event.

4.  Assist in the sharing of skills loyal to the spirit of the event.

5.  Liaise in good faith with the broader community regarding the event and its activities.

6.  Foster a spirit of unity, wellbeing and celebration with both the association and the event.

7. Create an event that assists in the promotion of the local area.

8.  Work towards creating a financially sustainable event.

9.  Establishing and hosting the event and all activities associated with it.

10. Act responsibly in relation to environmental issues.
